The jigger: measure like a pro
The cheapest tool behind your bar is the one that improves your cocktails the most. Learn to use the jigger.

The jigger is the small double-cone measure you see in every professional bar. It usually combines two sizes: 1/2 oz or similar metric pairs depending on the country.
Mixology is chemistry: a Margarita with an extra 10 ml of lime goes from balanced to aggressive. Measuring is not for beginners — quite the opposite. The best bartenders in the world measure everything.
Tip: buy a jigger with internal graduation marks (15, 22.5, 30, 45, 60 ml). It saves you from needing three different jiggers.
