Who we are

Twist & Tonic (twistandtonic.com) is a site dedicated to cocktail recipes, mixology techniques and community content. The data controller is [legal entity or responsible person], located at [address], contact email [email@domain.com].

What data we collect

Data you send voluntarily: when you submit a bar story we collect the name or alias you provide, the title if you fill one in, and the text of the story. We use it only to review and, where appropriate, publish your contribution.

Submission control: to limit submissions to one per day we do not store your IP address, but a code derived from it using a keyed cryptographic function. That code cannot be reversed into the IP nor used to identify you, and serves only to count submissions.

Signing in with Google: if you sign in with your Google account to rate recipes, Google gives us an account identifier and your public name. We neither request nor store your email address, your picture or any other profile data. All we keep alongside each rating is that identifier, so you can change your vote and so the same recipe cannot be rated twice.

Browsing data: like any website, we record technical data such as browser type and pages visited, for statistical and security purposes.

Third parties processing data

Sanity.io hosts the site's editorial content. Supabase hosts the community database. Vercel provides hosting. Google AdSense may display ads and use cookies to personalise them.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy, which we recommend reviewing.

Your rights

If you have signed in with Google, you can delete your data yourself and instantly: on any recipe, below the stars, there is a “Delete my ratings” link. It removes all your votes and signs you out. Since we keep no profile beyond that, this action erases everything we know about you.

For anything else, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, as well as object to its processing, by writing to [email@domain.com]. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time.

Minors

This site covers alcoholic beverages and is intended solely for people of legal drinking age in their country of residence. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
